Millom Network Centre
Maths is a part of so many aspects of everyday life and a key skill in the workplace.
Many of the learners who approach the Centre have had bad experiences. A teacher they didn’t get on with or home circumstances that made study difficult. Sometimes the person just finds the subject really challenging and needs some extra help to build up confidence.
GCSE Maths is one option for learners who want to improve their mathematical knowledge for home and work. It will also be a very valuable qualification to add to a CV.
The course runs every week for 34 weeks at the Community Learning and Skills Centre based at Millom Network Centre next to the school in Millom. At the end of the course in May 2018 candidates will take three 1.5 hour examinations in Millom.
A grade between 5 and 1 will be awarded for candidates sitting the Foundation Tier. It may be possible to sit the Higher Tier subject to sufficient progress and significant extra study, this would allow a possible pass up to grade 9.
Please arrange an informal chat as soon as possible. Our tutor can offer advice and guidance on the options that suit your current circumstances.
